And yes, she is ready AND she gets it!

Greetings To All,

In early January, we held the Retreat weekend with Miss Gay America 2015 Blair Williams. It was a great opportunity to get acquainted with each other, have many laughs, eat good food, exchange war stories, review mock-score sheets, discuss various forms and documents including the Promoters Handbook, watch some Miss Gay America pageant videos and discuss many issues that previous Miss Gay America’s encountered (especially during the L & T Entertainment administration) so that hopefully the reign would be much smoother than any other. We had a great weekend with Blair and she left the Retreat weekend just as the others who have reigned during the L & T decade of ownership and once more we feel completely confident that the Miss Gay America pageant system will be in great “administrative” hands.  After all the discussion of every imaginable issue that has occurred over prior years, Blair so eloquently spoke about how meaningful it is for her to reign after so many dynamic entertainers who were called Miss Gay America. She further said that she now clearly understands the purpose of all of the rules and regulations. She knows that each form and every work mentioned in the Promoters Handbook is for the good of the pageant system. She realizes that it is certainly not a controlling issue but rather an effort to enforce expectation accountability and continue to hold the very standard to the highest imaginable level. Such standards have not always been apparent in this pageant system and its taken time to document so that all know, who volunteer to become Miss Gay America that while their year as Miss Gay America should be among the best times of their lives, it will also be a year of hard work to hold the legacy together and make it stronger.  No matter the rumors and negativity that sometimes abounds, there is still a job to do and a legacy to uphold.  Granted the glitz and glamour are part of it, but to hear Blair Williams recognize the heritage and expectations established by those before her reign and to clearly understand why the rules and regulations exist makes us realize that “she gets it” and ready to prove to the world exactly why the judges selected her to be the national Symbol of Excellence.

We look forward to watching Blair shine as an entertainer and person during her reign as the “best of the best”. This will be another dynamic year and we are resting assured, as should the readers of this article, that this pageant system will be in great hands during this current year pageant season with Blair Williams as Miss Gay America.

On a personal note, we hope that you will make time on February 14th to tell those that are important in your lives, how much they mean to you. Granted, February 14th has become so commercialized however, the concept of the day is certainly a great idea.

Until next time,
Larry and Terry
