And The Tradition Continues...

Greetings! We hope that this finds each of you well and that you are about to have a fantastic holiday season. No matter your beliefs, it is difficult not to get caught in the hustle and bustle of the holiday cheer. We hope that this will be a holiday season of incredible memories for you.

As we have said in years past, this business, like all others is cyclical and this year is no exception. We have now concluded another pageant season and are now commencing preparation for another great year of pageantry. Once more, we find it difficult to realize that the schooling for the newly crowned Miss Gay America is in session. So in typical order, the crown has been placed on the head of another entertainer. The lovely promotional photo session has occurred. The many hours of scouring through the promotional photographs so as to choose the perfect photos that will make all of us proud has occurred.  The design work for the photographs has occurred and now the images are ready for print. So the schooling begins...

The thing that is different from the past is the usually the "Fathers/Daughter Retreat Weekend" occurs in early December however due to a scheduling conflict, the retreat with the new Miss Gay America will occur in early January 2015 so the "essay" type question and answer portion of the training has commenced. While the essay Q & A portion of the schooling is very time consuming, it has proven to be the most beneficial in preparing the new Miss Gay America for her reign during the preliminary pageant season, which will begin in March 2015. The Q & A's are a compilation of 100-plus questions posed to the newly crowned Miss Gay America whereby she will have to sift through the promoters Handbook to find answer. Additionally, there are many, many real life scenario questions that are asked so as to allow Miss Gay America to think about what to do when the situations occur. Each situation posed in the Q & A portion of the training is from "real life" experience and will better help the new Miss Gay America to understand her job and to better prepare for the "what if's". This so as to prepare Miss Gay America to make "on the spot" decisions that will be in the best interest of the pageant system. Sometimes there are "gray" areas in which case, common sense (plus reliance on an educated thought too) will dictate and likely allow Miss Gay America to make the best decision, so long as no matter the situation, all consideration is made with the best interest of the pageant system in mind.

And this year, just as in the past decade, so far to date, this national office is very confident in saying that if the last two months are any indication, this is going to be yet another tremendous year of pageantry for the Miss Gay America pageant system. As with all of the Miss Gay America titleholders who have been crowned in the L & T administration, there is always work to be done so as to ensure a great pageant season for all, including this national office, but there is much reason to be excited about the new year. We thank you, Miss Gay America 2015 Blair Williams for being so dedicated to your craft and wanting to be better. As we have said and as you will see, the expectations are high. If you reach the expectations, you will have a stellar year. And if you don't... well, the climb will be challenging to say the least. But your perseverance and growth as a competitor, entertainer and person have laid the foundation for you to have an amazing year. Thank you for the enormous respect you have for the crown you wear. Without such respect, you'd compromise the legacy that so many incredible entertainers have established and continued. All this to say that this national office is looking forward to another amazing year of pageantry with you as the reigning Symbol of Excellence.

In closing, let the rumors cease... Yes, we have made known that this pageant is for sale. However, we have also made known that we do not HAVE to sell this pageant system. While it may be in the best interest of L & T Entertainment to sell, we will not waiver our integrity in any way relative to the best interest of this pageant system. So if we sell... great! And if we don't, it is business as usual in that just as in years past, our commitment to deliver an incredible Miss Gay America to the world, is stronger and more seasoned than ever.

The search for the next Miss Gay America is seemingly always in motion. And this year is no exception.  So as the cycle continues, we are doing our part to continue the legacy, Blair Williams is doing her part and we trust the others (i.e. promoters and contestants) are doing theirs, to ensure the greatness continues.

Rest assured that while many of us have tradition within their families, the Miss Gay America has tradition too, and it continues, especially during this time of the year. Aside from the official pageant season, we hope that the conclusion to this calendar year brings our readers much happiness and that your new year is filled with lots of love, laughter and blessing.

Until next time,
Larry and Terry
