December 2005 Edition Of Excellence

Du'Bois' Dish By Nicole DuBois (MGA 2006)

Greeting’s from the Gulf Coast. I trust that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for, and we are truly blessed.

It has now been 45 day’s since being crowned Miss Gay America, and now on my 2nd Excellence article. Many of my MGA sisters have said enjoy every moment, because it goes by so quickly. While on the subject of my sisters, it has been so nice talking and emailing with them. Each of them telling me different stories and happening’s during their reign. I look forward with anticipation of working with all of them, and together we will move forward with making MGA 2007 the best pageant ever. It will be an awesome journey.

As the dust now settles and we all now look forward to a successful pageant year, I trust that every perspective contestant will now take the time to seek out their preliminaries of choice. My advice is to get your prelim over with early. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare. We have new and excited promoters that are eager for hungry contestants that have the desire to be Miss Gay America. Ones that have passion which means “having or showing strong emotions or the object of strong desire or fondness”. You have to want the crown, but be adult enough to accept the responsibilities that come with wearing it. You are all winners, and do not ever give up on your dream of becoming Miss Gay America.

My first preliminary is coming up January 15, Miss Colorado America. I am so looking forward to traveling this year to cities and states, that I have not had the opportunity of visiting.

To all of our promoters and contestants, please feel free to contact me via email or by phone. Communication will be the key to a very successful relationship. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Until then, this ends another chapter of Dubois’ Dish.

I wish each of you the happiest of holidays. Wishing each of you a joyous and prosperous New Year. See you all very soon. God Bless!

Much Love, Nicole

Tis the season…..

For many across the world, it is the season to give thanks for many blessings. No matter what beliefs each of us possess, we all can find blessings in our daily lives for it always seems that no matter how bad we think things are, we can always find someone else who is in worse condition. We hope that each of you will stop, during this busy holiday season, to count blessings. Since the holiday season is upon us, we wish each of you, a wonderful holiday season as we thank you for your interest in the Miss Gay America pageant system.

Many of you competitors should have now had opportunity to rest, as we are hearing that many of you are coming back to the Miss Gay America pageant, stronger than ever. As we are hopeful that we will be able to ship video orders by the third week of December, we encourage you to obtain a copy of the videos, review your performance and find ways to improve on your competition package. We are certainly available to provide our critique to you as well. While each of you had many positives about your competition package, there is always room for improvement and we hope that you will take advantage of the many resources to “improve your game”. The first thing you need to do in order to prepare next year is to focus on what preliminary you wish to enter, and make plans to be your best at that preliminary. We are in process of renewing preliminaries and hope to announce, in the next couple of weeks, the many dates already set for the Miss Gay America 2007 season. We then, recommend, once you qualify for Miss Gay America 2007 pageant, that you review your entire package to ensure that you are not “giving” points to anyone. We are quite confident that, the Miss Gay America 2007 pageant will be very similar to the Miss Gay America 2006 pageant, which was an extremely close competition whereby every point mattered. Remember, consistency wins!

We also, are in process of making some changes to the website. We apologize for not having photos of the Miss Gay America 2006 pageant available for viewing on the website, however, we are in process of hurdling some obstacles and hope to have them available in the next week. We are now accepting video orders. You may view the order form, via the Miss Gay America website, then contact our office to place your order.

Again, we wish each of you the very best this holiday season and look forward to a healthy and prosperous new year.

Until next time…
